‘Redmi Band’ Top Specifications, Price, India Launch

Redmi Band is all set to launch, a new affordable fitness tracker. The Redmi Band doesn’t look like the Mi Band, but has a new design on the out with upgraded features, expected to be available under Rs 1,500.

Xiaomi has been on top in the country when it comes to wearables, and now Redmi will enter the domain with its first fitness band.

The Xiaomi Mi Bands have been super successful in the country, and the first ever ‘Redmi’ branded fitness tracker will be more affordable with similar features and specs. Redmi Band India launch is expected in a few weeks.

Redmi Band Specs, Features: Redmi Band vs Realme Band

The Redmi band isn’t taking the look from the Xiaomi Mi Band, but is more similar to the recently launched Realme Band or the existing Honor Band. Redmi Band will sport a flat, rectangular colour screen and attached silicone band.

There will be multiple colour options to choose from among the bands: Orange, Black, Dark Blue and Olive Green. The company is yet to officially name the colours of the band.

Redmi Band is expected to feature a colour display sized less than an inch, with a single button to navigate.

The watch will support multiple dial faces with support for basic features as notifications for calls, SMS and apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube.

You will also be able to reject calls from the Redmi band itself. Not confirmed yet, but Redmi Band will certainly come with some sort of protection, maybe an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Redmi Band will work with the same app as Mi Bands, the MiFit app and it will come with certain added features on the MiFit app. Redmi Band will support heart-rate tracking, NFC, music control, alarms and weather info.

Redmi Band Price, Redmi Band India Launch

The Redmi Band is going to be more affordable in terms of pricing. The recently launched Realme Band is priced below Rs 1,500 in India, which gives it a direct advantage over the current Mi Band 4. The pricing remains a big differentiator.

While there’s Mi Band 3 to compete, it’s already more than a year old, and thus the Redmi Band will give Xiaomi more exposure and diversity in the wearables space in India.

The Redmi Band is going to be more affordable, expected to be pitched against Realme Band in India at Rs 1,499 with similar features, or maybe lower. At the same time, Xiaomi also has other bands up the price category with the popular Mi Band series.

Redmi Band India launch will happen in a few weeks from now, and it will definitely be going against Realme Band which is available in India at Rs 1,499. So, expect the Realme Band India price in the same category as its primary competitor.
