Jointly produced by Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri, Kabir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, Deepika Padukone and Vikramaditya Motwane, 83 movie features Ranveer Singh, Jiiva, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu in the lead roles. Music director Pritam composed the songs and Julius Packiam composed the background score. Cinematography Aseem Mishra handles camera and editing is done by editor Rameshwar S. Bhagat. The story of the movie is entirely based on the real story of the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
